Last Day at the Beach
Well, we have 5 new certified Open Water Divers and 3 new Advanced Open Water divers. Also worth mentioning that we have excellent snorkelers.
After a fun dive this morning we hung out at the beach and all went out for lunch.
This evening some of our kids participated in a scientific beach outreach. I will admit that Cole rocked it out.
Tomorrow morning we head back to Cancun to hang out by the pool. Tough, I know.

Marine Site Update 7/7
I've finally found a spot to sit at where I can upload some of the pictures I have taken. Look for those soon.

Bailee and Emmy had ear issues and backed out of diving for the week. I will say that the snorkeling is amazing so they are getting something out of their time in Akumal.
Day 8
Today we headed North to Alkumal. The pictures below give you a look into what our camp looked like in the jungle this week.
Day 7
Well most of us have survived the jungle. A few mosquito bites, some tired legs, and one sprained/ broke ankle. No worries, it's me! We attempted to play baseball on Saturday evening with a tennis ball and a mini wooden bat. I need to stick to coaching.
The kids were exposed to a lot of quality scientific studies and, if nothing else, should have a better appreciation for the scientists that are out there throughout the world trying to save what we have left.
Now off to the beach. The kids are more than ready.
Day 6
Today we got back to normal with each group visiting various transects throughout Calakmul. Our mammal scientist caught a glimpse of a young cougar fairly close to camp which was an exciting 5 minutes.
This evening we caught a rare glimpse of a unique wasp that paralyzes tarantulas and inserts its larvae into the tarantula where they mature. It's crazy to see it in person.
